An attorney for Adnan Syed, the man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend in a case re-examined in the popular podcast "Serial," said his client should receive a new trial because of an alibi witness who says she saw him in a library on the day of the killing. The witness, Asia McClain, is a "big piece of the puzzle," attorney C. Justin Brown said Wednesday at the beginning of a three-day post-conviction hearing for Syed. It is Syed's latest attempt at getting a new trial. His last request was denied in 2012.
